West Virginia University School of Medicine and the WVU Heart & Vascular Institute's Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery are actively recruiting a board certified/eligible cardiothoracic surgeon (ranks available Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor) with a specialty interest in Adult Cardiac Surgery. The candidate will practice in Parkersburg, WV.
Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites. Job Details*
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of cardiothoracic surgery specializing in open heart procedures. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Will obtain a WV state medical license and DEA registration upon hire
- BE/BC in Cardiothoracic surgery
- Completed an ACGME-accredited general surgery residency as well as a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship program
