Qualifications: Board certification in gastroenterology with excellent clinical, educational and leadership skills.

 

The UVM Health Network is recruiting a Division Chief for the Network Gastroenterology Division overseeing 3 campuses: Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (Plattsburgh, NY), Alice Hyde Medical Center (Malone, NY) and Elizabethtown Community Hospital (Elizabethtown, New York). UVM Health Network Gastroenterology is an integrated academic division serving 6 hospitals in Vermont and Upstate New York. The ideal candidate will have primary clinical and educational duties at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (primary clinical location, Plattsburgh New York) and may also participate at the University of Vermont Medical Center (Burlington, Vermont).

 

The Associate Division Chief will have the primary leadership responsibility for recruitment, education and clinical quality at 3 Upstate New York sites. Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital has an established procedural program with a large referral base, with excellent inpatient and outpatient facilities to deliver a broad spectrum of high-quality gastroenterology care. The incoming gastroenterologist will join the established practice at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) within The University of Vermont Health Network. CVPH has a reputable procedural program with a large referral base, including excellent inpatient and outpatient facilities to deliver a broad spectrum of high-quality gastroenterology care.  Both Alice Hyde Medical Center and Elizabethtown Community Hospitals provide procedural and clinical services in gastroenterology as well and are well suited to growth.

 

CVPH is a vibrant 300-bed level 3 trauma center located in the northeastern region of New York. It serves a catchment area of approximately 170,000. The facility includes 9 state-of-the-art ORs, an ambulatory surgery center, and modern endoscopy suites. CVPH works closely with UVM Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center located one hour away. The EMR (EPIC) operates network wide in both the clinic and inpatient settings connecting CVPH with all campuses of the UVM Health Network.
