Outstanding opportunity for a Cardiologist with Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology training.  Join OSF HealthCare Cardiovascular Institute, a group of 30 Cardiologists, and be an integral part of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria Cardiology Fellowship and Internal Medicine Residency. Minimal Call shared with a large collegial group and supported by Cardiology Fellows.

 

Our Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology team is based out of our flagship hospital, OSF St. Francis Medical Center, a high-volume quaternary referral center with 642 beds, boasting the following: 

  • Comprehensive Advanced Heart Failure program with a fully staffed and busy inpatient service and high-volume outpatient clinic 
  • CMS Certified Heart Transplant Program with tremendous growth potential
  • CMS Certified LVAD Program with two Heart Failure surgeons implanting HeartMate 3
  • ACGME Certified Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship with 9 General Cardiology fellowsand structured resident and medical student rotations.
  • Regional Cardiogenic Shock referral center with surgical and interventional temporary Mechanical Circulatory Support services
  • ELSO Certified Gold Level ECMO Program (VA and VV)
  • Robust Interventional Cardiology program with comprehensive Structural Heart Disease program
  • High-volume Electrophysiology program with expertise in high-risk endo/epicardial VT ablation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

 

  • Education: Doctorate
  • Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
  • Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
  • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal heath programs.
  • Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Recent clinical experience as a Fellow or Attending at a large academic center.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served
