The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), located in coastal Charleston, SC, has exciting opportunities for non-invasive general cardiologists to join their nationally recognized Division of Cardiology. At MUSC, our general clinical cardiologist physicians embrace the tripartite academic mission and enjoy rewarding and diverse careers.
At the MUSC Health Heart & Vascular Center, we provide personalized, compassionate care and the most advanced and effective treatments. We are the only program in South Carolina to offer heart transplantation, robotic valve surgery, complex aorta surgeries, complex ablation and comprehensive lead management services. Our general clinical cardiologists staff our in-patient and consult services, in addition to our distributed clinics in the tri-county area.
We perform over 100 echocardiograms per day and field sophisticated services in nuclear imaging (including PET CT), and all aspects of cardiac computed tomography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. We enjoy a highly productive clinical and research collaborative with cardiac imagers in the Department of Radiology. We field the states only cardiovascular clinical genetics program, offering personalized care for people and families with inherited heart and vascular conditions, in addition to deeply differentiated programs in structural heart disease, percutaneous coronary intervention, cardiac imaging, cardiac surgery and vascular surgery.
The MUSC Health Heart & Vascular Center has received the Society of Thoracic Surgeons 3-star rating 20 years in a row, is accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, and is a BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina BlueDistinction Center for Cardiac Care. This year, U.S. News & World Report ranked MUSCs University Medical Center as High Performing in the areas of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Aortic Valve Surgery, and the treatment of Heart Failure and Heart Attack.
Ideal Candidates:
- Completed an accredited Cardiology Fellowship
- Board Certified or Eligible in Cardiology
- Experience with echocardiography and Cardiac MRI/CT/Nuclear imaging
Opportunity Details:
- Join a highly collegial team of 18 general clinical cardiology clinical faculty (among the 45 total cardiologists currently in the Division of Cardiology) and 6 APPs
- Opportunity for differentiation in echocardiography, advanced multi-modality cardiac imaging, cardio-oncology, cardio-obstetrics, cardiovascular clinical genetics, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, preventive cardiology, quality and safety and/or medical education
