Heart Center is a hospital-owned practice seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Cardiologist to join our established group in our Sheffield, Alabama satellite location. The practice was founded in 1979 and has since grown into a lucrative practice with more than 40 Cardiologists, 6 Cardiothoracic Surgeons and 4 cardiac anesthesiologists.  We are the dominant cardiology group in North Alabama, owning more than 90% of the market with an excellent payor mix.  Physicians are employed by HH Heart Center, LLC which is a wholly-owned entity of Huntsville Hospital, one of the largest non-profit health care systems in the nation, serving all of North Alabama and Southern Tennessee.  This provides the group access to a large base of patients supported by a referral base of 170+ primary care physicians.

The position carries excellent compensation and benefits (health/dental/malpractice/disability insurance), 401k and 457(b).

Our Sheffield physicians practice at Hellen Keller Hospital, which is part of the Huntsville Hospital Health System.  Founded in 1921, Hellen Keller Hospital is a 185 bed facility with a medical staff of more than 150 physicians and 1000 employees.  The facility offers a wide range of diagnostic testing, including a cardiac catherterization lab.  In addition to the hospital diagnostic imaging services, our clinic provides nuclear, echocardiography and PV testing for our patients.

About Us

The four adjacent towns of Florence, Sheffield, Muscle Shoals, and Tuscumbia are on the banks of the Tennessee River and make up what we call “The Shoals”.  Because these towns are so intertwined, the residents here enjoy a quality of life and a variety of activities usually only found in much larger metropolitan areas.

We are located just a few miles from Tennessee and Mississippi with access to three major airports.  Huntsville is approximately an hour away, while Birmingham and Nashville are about 2 hours away.  This proximity offers greater shopping and arts and entertainment venues as well.

The Shoals is the site for the:

Alabama Renaissance Faire- October

Arts Alive

Heritage Days

Freedom of America Celebration on the fourth of July

Trail of Tears Celebration

W.C. Handy Music Festival

Helen Keller Festival and much more!

We are an outdoor lover's dream. Golfers pick from a variety of public and private courses, including the most spectacular courses on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. The river and its system of lakes offers a variety of recreational activities including beautiful public parks, camping areas, great kayaking opportunities and walking trails. In the spring, neighborhoods come alive with flowering dogwoods and azaleas, and the downtown areas buzz with activity as restaurants move tables to the sidewalk and enjoy another change of season.

There's plenty to do indoors, as well. The Kennedy-Douglass and Tennessee Valley Art Centers offer exhibits, classes and shows. Theater groups and dance studios perform a variety of musicals and plays and museums offer educational programs throughout the year. The University of North Alabama is a large contributor to our cultural life, with its choral groups, The Shoals Symphony, and theater performances.
