Join a nationwide team that has solutions down to a science.Your OpportunityStantec ChemRisk has an immediate need for a Principal, Senior Principal, or Managing Principal Health Scientist, focused on leveraging your own and our staff’s extensive technical expertise, expanding your and the firm’s client base, building revenue production and drawing power, and serving as a strategic leader for the firm. You will have the opportunity to work with highly skilled support staff, collaborate with other exceptional experts, and develop and lead publications and internally funded research projects. If you are looking to leverage your technical expertise, expand your client base, build revenue production and draw power, and serve as a strategic leader, join our team!Your Key ResponsibilitiesWorks under minimal supervision with broad guidelines to assign, review, and evaluate the performance of new project orders, directing interdisciplinary project teams as needed to ensure project needs are metManages and directs several technically complex and diverse projects comprised of relatively large teams of diverse disciplinesServes as a senior reviewer and/or Principal-In-Charge of projects, research efforts, and manuscriptsGenerates revenue; broadens client relationships with new servicesPresents the consulting business and risk assessment process in client meetings and for business development leads with no oversightWorks independently and directs business development staff to strategize around and win project work from new or existing clientsDevelops and expands the client network which leads to building revenue and independent draw powerServes as a strategic leader to develop, expand, and leverage new technical areas to broaden the technical and revenue diversity of the firmAttracts and manages 5 - 10 projects totaling at least $1,000,000, including budgeting and tracking project financials, scoping project strategic plans, managing project team member tasks, and maintaining excellent client relationshipsIdentifies when deliverables are not up to Stantec ChemRisk standards and works with project staff to ensure final deliverables are high qualityExpands technical expertise in specific areas of risk assessment, toxicology, epidemiology, and exposure assessment by participating as a primary writer and technical contributor to one manuscript or 2-3 diverse technical projects annuallyStays abreast of relevant scientific literature and regulationsParticipates in the scientific community and is recognized as a leader and expert in multiple areas of technical expertise so that clients and other Stantec ChemRisk staff seek your technical guidance and expertiseGuides teaches, and mentors 5 - 10 staff members daily, including being responsible for their workload and career developmentWorks with staff to broaden their skill sets and has inspired them to an expanded vision for their careersFollows the ethical guidelines and standard methodologies for their fieldQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsHighly proficient in critical thinking, problem-solving, writing, teaching, and public speakingPossesses business development skills necessary to maintain and grow excellent client relationshipsComprehensive understanding of the consulting business and risk assessment processRecognized as an independent expert which results in attracting clientsDemonstrated project management skills, including but not limited to:scoping workestablishing schedulesproject plan developmentroutine tracking/reporting throughout project implementationPossesses high attention to detail with proven time management and organizational skillsAbility to professionally and positively communicate in writing and verbally across a variety of stakeholders with varying technical understandingCapable of presenting to a variety of audience sizes on a wide range of projectsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyEducation and ExperienceBachelor of Science (minimum) in public health, biology, chemistry, or other closely related degree requiredMaster’s or Ph.D. preferredProfessional certification (DABT, CIH, etc.) is idealA minimum of 10-15 years of proven experience in a similar role requiredThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec ChemRisk is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other’s talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us. Join us and redefine your personal best.Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):Salary Range(s):$141,400 - $219,100 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY$123,400 - $191,300 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI and MD$132,400 - $219,100 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
