The Pediatric Hematology, Oncology & Stem Cell Transplant Division at Riley Children's Health at Indiana University Health is interviewing applicants for Solid Tumor Team Lead Assistant or Associate faculty. The successful candidate will have a strong clinical and research background with a focus in Solid Tumor and leadership experience. 

  • Duties include inpatient consultation, outpatient consultation, outpatient clinics, and inpatient service. 
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the solid tumor team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including oncologists, nurses, radiologists, surgeons, and support staff, to create comprehensive care plans.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Drive initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency within the oncology department.
  • Stay current with advancements in oncology treatment, research, and technologies, and integrate these into patient care.
  • Exhibit regular and active participation in Division and hospital meetings, as well as Department committees as requested or relevant
  • Provide a culture that values safety, efficiency, inclusion, and satisfaction for patients, their families, staff, and faculty across the clinical enterprise 
  • Establish evidenced based guidelines that promote quality and cost-effective patient care delivery 
  • Generate Section SOCs; ensure uniformity amongst the Sections and adherence to SOC's

Qualifications

  • BC in Pediatrics and BC/BE in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology with solid tumor background/focus
  • Preferred: clinical trial design/leadership experience
  • Assistant or Associate Professor
  • Physician MD/DO licensed in Indiana or eligible for medical licensure

The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Riley Children's is a Children's Oncology Group Phase I Consortium member affiliated with the IUSM Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, the states only NCI designated Cancer Center for clinical care. We are the only nationally ranked oncology and hematology program in the state of Indiana, home to the only pediatric stem cell transplant program, and the only site offering pediatric CAR T-Cell therapy within the state.

With comprehensive interdisciplinary disease-focused teams, doctors and staff treat more than 80 percent of children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer and see more than 300 new oncology patients throughout Indiana and surrounding states each year. More than 13,000 outpatient visits per year focus on leukemias, solid tumors, brain tumors, hematopoietic/stem cell transplant, general hematology, hemoglobinopathies such as sickle cell disease and thalassemias, bone marrow failure syndromes, hemophilia and other coagulation disorders.
