Position Overview:
Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Neurologist with a subspecialty fellowship or a strong interest in Movement Disorders to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with state-of-the-art facilities and a supportive team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing comprehensive care for patients with movement disorders and contribute to the advancement of the field through clinical excellence and continued learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building a Specialized Ambulatory Practice: Develop and expand an outpatient neurology practice with a focus on Movement Disorders, Neuromuscular, or Cognitive specialties. Expertise in neuro sleep medicine is a plus.
- Virtual Visits: Embrace telemedicine and contribute to enhancing ambulatory access in the Toledo market.
- Inpatient Rounding Service/Call (Optional): Participate in an equitable rotation for inpatient rounding services/call. Coverage includes St. Vincent Hospital (Level 1 trauma center) and metro services at St. Charles, St. Anne, and Perrysburg Hospitals (approx. 20-25% of work).
- Resident Teaching and Clinics: Provide didactics, lead weekly resident clinics, and engage in teaching during rounding services. Participate in journal clubs and present a minimum of one grand rounds presentation per year.
- Provide expert evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with movement disorders.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Participate in clinical research and contribute to academic activities, including teaching and mentoring medical students and residents.
- Stay current with advances in neurology and movement disorders to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge care.
- Engage in community outreach and education to raise awareness about movement disorders and available treatments.

Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology.
- Fellowship training in Movement Disorders or demonstrated strong interest in the field.
- Active medical license in Ohio or the ability to obtain one.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
