We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with a solid breadth of experience - to design and implement the web application layer around our core technology. You'll be part of a cross-functional team that's responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. We want team members with a sense of humor and a passion for making great software. You must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment. If you're also familiar with Agile methodologies, we'd like to meet you.
Responsibilities
Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutionsDesign client/server architectureDevelop and manage well-functioning databases and applicationsWrite effective APIsTest software to ensure responsiveness and efficiencyTroubleshoot, debug and upgrade softwareCreate security and data protection settingsPerform code reviewsWrite technical documentationWork with data scientists and analysts to improve softwareRequirements
Strong Python skills and experience with multiple back-end languages (e.g. C++, Java, Node.js)Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, MongoDB)Familiarity with Linux, Kubernetes, BashFamiliarity with web servers (e.g. Apache, NGINX)Experience writing REST APIsFamiliar with version control such as git, Azure DevOps is a plusExcellent communication and teamwork skillsGreat attention to detailAn analytical mindBS Degree in Computer ScienceMust be East Coast based, local candidates strongly preferredBenefits
