Summary/ObjectiveManage finance and accounting department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company’s future.Essential Functions*Reconcile General Ledger accounts on a monthly basis and process month-end closings.Disseminate accurate and timely financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements.Manage the disbursement function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, and employee expense reports.Process payroll including tracking paid time off, time bank, benefit changes, multi-state and payroll tax compliance.Manage billing cycle including time processing, work-in-progress reports, invoicing and collections.Assist with the preparation of the federal and state income tax returns.Maintain and improve systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data and enhance the company’s value.Manage the production of the annual budgets, calculating variances from the budget and report significant variances to management.Maintain a documented system of accounting policies, procedures and controls.Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.Manage employee benefit plans including payroll deferral, timely remittance of contributions; provide year-end census and various accounting of trust assets.Manage the insurance renewal process including coordinate with risk management shareholder.Generating reports as required relating to financial and other surveys.CompetenciesFinancial Analysis & ReportingTechnical CapacityInitiativeEthical Conduct and ConfidentialityCommunication ProficiencyReliableSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position is responsible for supervising the Accounting Assistant.Work EnvironmentThis job is an in-office position with the potential for hybrid environment.TravelThis position requires up to 10% travel.Position TypeThis is a full-time position. Hours should comply with business hours and schedule approved by management.
