We're searching for a Senior or Staff Level Backend Engineer to focus on building the infrastructure behind cutting-edge, multimodal AI interfaces.What you'll be a part of:Revolutionize AI User Experiences: Play a pivotal role in changing the way users interact with AI on our platform, using natural interactions like speech, gestures, and more.Collaborative Innovation: Work alongside a talented team of engineers, designers, and machine learning researchers to conceptualize, design, and deploy the backend systems that power these incredible experiences.Projects you might conquer:Real-Time AI Phone Calls: Build a low-latency audio streaming backend for a seamless human-AI phone call experience.AI Gets Vision: Develop a large-scale video ingestion and storage infrastructure to empower our AI with sight.Generative Video on Demand: Create a platform for live-streaming generative video.Scalable Streaming Infrastructure: Manage, scale, and automate large deployments of streaming infrastructure with high availability.Are you the one? (Required Skills)2+ years of experience with audio and video streaming technologies (WebRTC, media servers, etc.).5+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems for a fast-growing consumer application.Highly performant services expertise: You excel at writing efficient services with a strong grasp of Golang and/or Python.Microservices master: Design, implement, and maintain individual microservices that combine to form complex, scalable backend systems.Containerization and Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes are your friends.Database Guru: Extensive experience with various database technologies, both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB). Bonus points for proficiency in database design, sharding, replication, and high-traffic optimization.Caching champion: Familiar with caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached) to enhance application performance.Problem-solving powerhouse: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are key for identifying and addressing bottlenecks and ensuring backend systems perform optimally.Collaborative spirit: Proven ability to work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to bring new features to life.Communication is key: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to diverse teams and stakeholders.B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.Bonus points if you:Are proactive and a "get things done" kind of person.Have a passion for staying ahead of the curve: You're constantly learning and innovating to ensure our backend systems remain cutting-edge.Deeply passionate about AI innovation: You're product-focused and excited about building features that leverage the power of AI to create a transformative and engaging user experience.
