Business Analyst

Symmetrio is actively recruiting for a Business Analyst for our customer, a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. You will support the initiation, oversight, and completion of various special projects, including web projects, applications, and supporting functionality. The Business Analyst will work closely with the CIO and other departments as required, conducting all activities related to successfully gathering project requirements and participating in the discovery, requirements, design, development, deployment, and operations phases of various IT special projects.This position will be primarily based onsite in PhiladelphiaResponsibilitiesConduct business observations and facilitate focus group sessions, vision exercises, and design review sessionsIdentify key internal and external stakeholders of projectsConduct whiteboarding/brainstorming sessions with stakeholdersPerform gap analysisCollaborate with User Experience design and application developers in the development of presentation tier componentsFacilitate meetings with managers and users at various levels in the organizationWork with cross-functional/cross-departmental teamsIdentify, document, and clearly diagram all requirementsDevelop detailed requirementsCreate business process and workflow diagramsManage stakeholder relationships and foster continuous communicationAssist with project scoping and planningDevelop Use Cases and Test Cases for user testingConduct competitive research on an as-needed basisWork closely with the project team on system development and design on an ongoing basisConduct and prepare Knowledge Transfer sessions and periodic reviews as neededBuild an organized library of all business analysis documentationObtain stakeholder sign-off on all required documentationPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsProficiency in adhering to all required activities in each phase of the project, including Discovery, Requirements, Design, Development, Deployment, and OperationsUnderstanding and ability to follow steps of various SDLC methodologiesAbility to meet deadlines in an environment of changing prioritiesQuick learner in a dynamic environmentEnthusiastic and dedicatedStrong multitasking abilitiesKnowledge of business analysis techniques and toolsExperience in meeting facilitationAbility to design alternative business process workflowsKnowledge of effective ways to collect feedback and commentsFamiliarity with software development life cycle models (SDLC)Experience with Agile software development methodologyKnowledge of Joint Application Development (JAD) approach to collect requirementsUnderstanding of project management principles
