About Our ClientOur client for the National Sales Director Aftermarket opportunity is a manufacturer and distributor of lighting, electronics, control systems, and other related products to the transportation and mobility markets, including automotive, law enforcement, government, fire and rescue, and related.

The National Sales Director Aftermarket will report to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. The National Sales Director will lead a direct sales force of around 20 people, plus network of manufacturing rep groups. The National Sales Director will focus on growing sales revenue, mentoring and developing the sales team and driving the overall growth strategy. This organization has double revenue every 5 years since their inception and continue that momentum becoming the #1 market leader. The National Sales Director will come from an automotive, transportation, or related background with experience in aftermarket and distribution.Job DescriptionResponsible for the overall sales execution, plan, forecasting and growthBuild strong customer relationships and strategic partnerships to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutionsAchieve and exceed Budget Sales and Gross Margin targets with customersEnsure all reports, plans, forecasts, and administrative requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner meeting all reporting deadlines as set by senior managementWork closely with cross functional teams, marketing, product management, etc.Manage, mentor, develop, and coach sales team membersAssist and provide direction with sales team members on key decisions makers at customers helping guide them through the sales, account management, and business development process removing roadblocks.Responsible for timely and efficient communication of the strategic plan with all key stakeholdersEfficiently plan customer facing time and call cycles to maximize time management and diligently complete call reports etc. on CRMProvide regular and relevant feedback on Market conditions, competitor activities and progress towards business objectives.Attend industry trade shows, conferences, customer events, and related eventsAnalyze the current market position, i.e. the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's Degree in business, marketing or related. Master's preferred, but not required.Minimum of 10-15 years of sales experience with automotive/transportationMinimum 5 years in a Sales Leadership role leading high performing teamsMust have experience selling through distribution and/or manufacturing repsExperience with automotive aftermarketStrong leadership skills developing, mentoring and inspiring a sales organizationStrong analytical and organizational skillsStrong presentations and communication skills requiredAbility to travel 30 - 40% across the US regionWhat's on OfferCompetitive base salary $160,000 - $185,000 depending on experience, annual company bonus, sales annual bonus paid quarterly, company car, full benefits, PTO, holidays, being a part of a growing organization.
