IT Data Engineer

you are charged with implementing new technologies and methods, affecting change, and being a key team member within our IT Department. The

IT

Data Engineer

has a cross-functional position that reports directly to our Senior Director of IT and is part of our business led Analytic Center of Excellence (ACOE). Stemilt is undergoing a transformation to turn data into analytical gold! As our IT Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront supporting business teams become data story tellers and insight makers. You are the innovator that makes this transformation and journey possible!

This position

delivers extraordinary customer service at all levels,

and is responsible for the design, build, and implementation of data pipelines that support analysts and reporting across the enterprise. You will be responsible for maintain and administering our analytic cloud reporting layer and helping to support data extracts and transformations. Making sure jobs run successfully, staying highly organized and knowing when to prioritize different tasks.

Ability to work and adapt in a multi-project environment is a must.

Additional ResponsibilitiesBuilds, maintains, and administers our analytical cloud architectureEnsures data pipelines and data stores are high performing, efficient, organized and reliableHelps design technical ETL/ELT solutions for gathering, landing, consuming and analyzing data across Stemilt's reporting architecture including self-service data lakes, Power BI, Synapse, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP Embedded AnalyticsScopes and creates Core Data Service views used for SAP analytical reportingDesign, implement, monitor, and optimize data platforms to meet data needsClearly communicate technical details to business and management personnelParticipate in business led ACOE project planning processTackle data-related technical issues and assist with data infrastructure needsWork with Stemilt's ACOE to strive for greater functionality within our data systemsDevelop and implement data governance strategies and follow standard operating with regard to application lifecycle managementPartner and engage with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand data and reporting requirementsIdentify areas where improvements can be made and find/suggest solutionsContribute to the team and the Company in various other ways when requested or requiredReports to:

Experience:

Working in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, IBM Cloud etc)Creating and managing ETL pipelines (i.e. Data factory, Synapse, Databricks etc.)Advanced knowledge query writing and database design (i.e. SQL, ABAP)Working with database systems including warehouses, data marts, and models needed for business, financial and operational analysisCleansing, manipulating data sets, and anomaly detectionBuilding relational data modelsPerforming data analysisNot Required but a plus:

Experience working in the tree fruit or agricultural industryExperience working in a manufacturing environmentExperience with Analytics and Data Science tools, technologies, and techniques (R, Python, algorithms, Azure ML Studio/Services)Experience authoring reports using business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Embedded Analytics etc.)Experience with automation tools (e.g. Power Automate)Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 4 or more years' experience in Computer Science, IT, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
