This position is responsible for providing legal advice and support on moderately complex legal projects and assignments relating to contracting, intercompany arrangements, and other strategic corporate transactions for a market leading health insurance company. The role focuses on providing legal advice, drafting, and preparation of contracts and documents; and representing the company in contract negotiations.Additional Responsibilities include:

Manage contract drafting and negotiations, and provide risk mitigation counsel and business-focused legal guidance.Demonstrate experience in managing complex contracting matters, including vendor, provider network, producer/customer and strategic sourcing contracts.Provide legal support to the Company on regular and routine business matters related to contracting, including legal counsel, legal research and preparation of legal memoranda.Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to support business leaders and mitigate financial, strategic and operational risk.Exercise ability to think strategically on legal and business issues and deliver high quality and timely legal services.Exercise tact and diplomacy in providing legal consultation to management.Provide functional advice and guidance to legal support staff or entry level attorneys when assigned.Keep abreast of pertinent laws, trends, court rulings, etc., relating to areas of concern to management or to issues for which legal advice is provided.Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.Job Requirements:

Juris Doctor Degree and a license to practice law in the state where the legal department is located.5 years experience as a practicing attorney after receiving a law degree.Experience in the health care industry may substitute for legal experience.Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.Preferred Job Requirements:
