Summary:The Patient Flow Coordinator is responsible for the effective daily coordination and monitoring of Patient Flow through timely and accurate dispatch and management of Patient Placement requests and efficient assignments of Environmental Services personnel. Responsibilities:• Resolves problems related to patient, visitor, staff, or employee complaints associated with departmental issues• Recommends and participates in the solution of ongoing problems or trends• Escalates/prioritizes changes in bed status in conjunction with Patient Placement.• Facilities routing of phone calls from internal customers to the EVS team and utilizes 2-Fixx portal when appropriate. Provides oversight of EVS staff for efficient discharge cleaning assignments.• Manages room hold and appropriate reason codes.• Identify the following and escalate to EVS manager when no EVS tech in sector, prolonged response/clean times are outside of protocols.• Ensures staff availability (beginning, end, breaks, lunch).• Exhibits excellent telephone etiquette and listening skills. Displays interpersonal savvy.• Successfully de-escalates high-tension situations.• Continuously monitors and improves departmental performance through timely dispatching of Patient Placement requests and personnel activity status.• Utilizes effective dispatching logic in prioritizing tasks, dispatching assignments to the appropriate personnel in order of availability and proximity while maximizing productivity.• Identifies problems and, conducts research, resolves or makes recommendations to direct reports.• Continuously monitors response times and associate productivity. •• Identifies problems and/or trends, conducts research, resolves or makes recommendations to direct reports.•• Prints reports when requested. Functions as a liaison between Environmental Services Patient and other departments. Records all operational actions in "Daily Shift Report."

Other information:Required Job Qualifications:• High school diploma.• Customer service skills, preferably in a medical setting.• Time management skills.• Organizational skills.• Maintains professionalism at all times.• Problem solving skills.• Demonstrates personal computer literacy and basic knowledge of Microsoft office• Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and non-clinically personnel.• Ability to create reports/communication documents related to the role and outcome performance monitoring. Ability to perform tasks independently, seeks direction as needed, and prioritizes workload.• Experience with EVS and bed monitoring system.• Flexible, willing to adjust schedule, work weekends if needed.

Preferred Job Qualifications:• Associates or Bachelor's degree.• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.• Experience with Epic.
