Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION: Under general supervision, to assist a certificated Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), Program Specialist and/or other professional staff in providing a variety of speech therapy services to special education students in accordance with Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals; completes a variety of tasks such as activities designed to develop receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language skills and use of assistive technology devices for communication; works with high school and adult transition students who have identified speech and language disorders as well as other disabilities; performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduation from high school or its equivalent. Must have AA/AS or BA/BS in speech-language pathology or communication disorders, or graduation from a speech-language pathology assistant program
Prior SLPA experience in educational or clinical settings is preferred.
LICENSES: Possession of a valid, appropriate California Driver's License. Possession of a valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
