Position InformationOperating TitleInformation Technology Technician
Summary of PositionThe Information Technology Technician will assist the Information Technologist IV in providing technical hardware and software support to the Computer Science department.
General duties are:
Technical Support and System Administration (80%):
Provide technical hardware and software support. Install and upgrade software and hardware for instruction and research purposes. Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures.Planning (10%):
Investigate potential software and hardware upgrades and additions.Operation (10%):
Monitor system health and assist with routine system maintenance.
Campus LocationDurham
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 1-3 years experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Physical DemandsMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds and able to carry out physical tasks that routinely require bending, standings, and carrying.

Salary InformationThis is an hourly position without benefits. Hourly rate begins at $15/hour.
