As a member of the region s only Comprehensive Stroke Center, you will join a multidisciplinary team including two neurohospitalists, eight neurologists, seven neurosurgeons, two neuroradiologists and one senior neurointerventional neurologist who shares neuro-interventional call. The physician will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary conferences, quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the teaching of medical students and residents. As the regional presence as a tertiary hub has expanded in recent years, it means more acutely ill patients are in need of a higher quality of care. Project 20/20, a seven-story patient tower scheduled to be completed in 2020, will house 64 intensive care beds. In addition, the new patient tower will expand critical care services to include medical, surgical, cardiovascular, neuro and trauma critical care. At $111 million, it will be the biggest capital project in the Hospital's history.
Qualifications and details include:
- Ideal candidates will be fellowship trained (endovascular surgical neuroradiology, interventional neuroradiology, neuroendovascular surgery)
- Typical cases include acute stroke intervention, brain aneurysm embolization, carotid revascularization, fistula treatment, spine procedures, diagnostic angiography, cerebral venous procedures and thrombolysis
- Candidates should have a broad neurointerventional skill set with a willingness to learn new techniques, participate in new procedures and evolve as a neurointerventionalist
- Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative disposition
- A desire to teach medical students, residents, and staff <
