The medical center is a licensed, 163-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. We provide care for a diverse cultural population of younger and older adults.SummaryCertified Nursing Assistant performs basic nursing care work of more than average difficulty and responsibility in the treatment and care of the physically ill in county hospitals. Employees in this classification perform more difficult nursing assistant assignments not requiring the knowledge and skill of licensed practical or professional nurses. This is Level 3 job in the nursing support career ladder.ResponsibilitiesProvides clinical duties as assigned by unit or hospital nursing leadershipPerforms active therapeutic approaches to include but are not limited to range of motion, ambulation, other ADL activities to residents of the nursing facility with specific training to do soEnsures residents have adequate suppliesMaintains residents' surroundings in a clean, orderly fashionObserves and reports all unusual resident's conditions or reactions to Charge Nurse (to include residents incidents/accidents)Answers call light promptly, attends to residents' needs, and reports to Charge Nurse when resident requires professional servicesParticipates actively in intershift rounds, and assists with caring for residents' needs when indicatedTransports resident to and from and assists with activities, therapies and appointmentsDemonstrates ability to work with and be sensitive to the needs of the elderlySpecific accountability for protecting residents rights to dignity, freedom from abuse, neglect and exploitation as outlined in state and federal regulations governing long-term careFollows and performs all related unit specific policies and procedures, as detailed on the unit specific competency check-list. Utilizes job and unit specific equipment as requiredDemonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).Performs all other related job duties as assigned ExperienceGenerally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.EducationHigh school diploma is required.CredentialsCompletion of an approved nursing assistant training program. Valid Florida Nursing Assistance Certificate required. Certificate must be maintained as current in accordance with State requirements.
