The Director, Product Manager - Clearing, is a key member of the CME Clearing Product Management team and is responsible for driving operational and technical excellence and maximizing value and return on investment as it relates to the Clearing Portfolio.
This role must have business or technical expertise in US Government Securities or Repo from a trading, clearing or settlement perspective.
T his product includes end to end technical capabilities like trade capture, post-trade processing, MTM calculations, risk monitoring and settlements. This individual will be responsible for driving the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with external customers, business, operations, and technology and prioritizing the product backlog accordingly. This individual will leverage deep expertise in the securities clearing space to inspire, influence, and lead a senior group of product owners tasked with maximizing the delivery of value of their product supporting the world's leading and most diverse marketplace.
Responsibilities also include partnering with technology teams to drive delivery of key capabilities, facilitating product demonstrations and validating customer needs and approach through customer engagement. In addition, this individual will need to work across CME supporting internal teams and external partners and requires a passion for customer success and problem solving.

Principal Accountabilities Demonstrating leadership and ownership of the product, and inspiring others to share and contribute to the product vision and goals
Maintains a deep understanding of the securities clearing space including competitive landscape, emerging trends, and new technologies that may impact the product's success
Understand customer needs and jobs to be done to execute on an iterative approach to bring customer along the journey as we deliver value
Defines product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with Portfolio and business goals maximizing delivery of value and managing total cost of ownership
Possesses the technical expertise and business knowledge required to drive long term vision and strategy for the product
Provides insights on budget, resource requirements, technical requirements and return on investments
Manages and prioritizes product backlog based on external and internal customers which include business, operations and risk stakeholders
Defines Pod composition and team structure based on priorities and the demands of value chains
Breaks down the Portfolio Epics and Strategic Initiatives for clearing portfolio into workable features that the Pods in the Product can deliver
Defines Program Increment (PI) scope and Release Plan for the product comprising new Features, Enablers (architecture, infrastructure etc.), and Technical Debt items
Drive team alignment, identify dependencies, and recognize and mitigate risks to plan for the Program Increment
Skills & Software Requirements Strong business and technical subject matter expertise in US Government Securities, Treasury management, and Treasury market structure
Strong knowledge of clearing and other infrastructure processes for US Treasuries and repurchase agreements (repo)
Established track record of working in a Product Manager, Solutions Engineering or Technical Account Management role.
Understanding of and experience with portfolio and budgeting concepts
Experience with Jira, Jira Align and/or other ALM tools
Excellent leadership and communication skills and the desire to work in a client-facing role.
Strong business analysis skills including the ability to articulate customer requirements in a clear and concise manner
Competency in quantitative and qualitative analysis research skills and a bias towards data driven decision making
Ability to prioritize, manage, and execute responsibilities to meet or exceed team objectives
Proven background in analyzing, designing and implementing processes and policies to improve efficiencies and achieve desired objectives with a strong bias towards continuous improvement
Strong teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively across organizations
Works towards cultivation of a culture that encourages open communication, cooperation and the sharing of information
Strong understanding of SDLC concepts with certification in SAFe and/or SCRUM preferred
Experience At least 8 years of experience working with financial products and markets. Previous experience must include work as either a Product Manager, Solutions Engineer or Technical Account Manager.
Working knowledge of SAFe, Agile, Lean and/or Iterative Development Methodologies
Education Bachelor's Degree required with strong academic performance; computer science or math/finance concentration preferred
Master's Degree in computer science or math/finance preferred
Certifications Must have or willing to obtain the following: Certified Professional Product Owner (PSPO Level 1 or 2)
