The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and identifying improvements by planning, implementing, and monitoring software framework solutions.Tasks and Responsibilities

Lead, identify and develop product specification, system design, development, and system integration for new and existing software applicationsDevelop, test, and maintain multi-tier web applications and windows-based programs/utilitiesConduct new technology research and concept specifications to influence the design of individual software componentsCollaborate with cross-functional areas on products and programs that will contribute to FSI's strategic direction, development, and future growthDevelop, test, and refactor pRefactor web application and services to be completely stateless and cloud-readyMonitor, configure, and improve integration with COTS platformsConsult with users on problem determination and provide root cause analysis in a timely mannerProvide 24x7 on-call support, after-hours, and weekend work as neededLead and mentor the daily activities and tasks of the Software Engineering team, providing feedback and guidance where neededAccountable and responsible for the accuracy and completeness of assigned work and resultsPrioritize and manage workload and communicate issues clearlyComplete other tasks as requiredTravel when requiredMinimum Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experienceMinimum Experience

8+ years of experience in any software development roleStrong experience in .NET platform and MVCStrong experience in Java/J2EEKnowledge, Skills, Abilities

In-depth experience programming in Visual Studio Development Environment utilizing the .NET languages (C#, VB.NET); Programming experience in C++, development of Computer Based Training (CBT), and/or training device system simulation is a plusStrong knowledge and experience in the entire software development life cycle, including requirements gathering and analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation for various development platformsSolid understanding of Web Development: HTML5 and Angular JS or similar JavaScript librariesKnowledge of web service models: SOAP, OData, RESTKnowledge of Javascript and JQueryExperience working with Kafka, ElasticSearch or similar systemsExperience with 3rd party Javascript libraries such as Angular JS, Knockout JS, JQueryUI, or similar preferredExperience with using SQL Server as a backend preferredExperience with TFS and GitDemonstrated capability to write software routines to support courseware and training devices that include graphics, simulation, animation, and user interactionExperienced in the use and programming of MS-Windows Operating SystemSolid understanding of testing principles, methodologies, tools, and processesStrong written and verbal communications skillsExcellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloadPhysical Demands and Work Environment
