The

Joint Center seeks a full-time staff member to serve as t he Development Associate. This

role is responsible for all administrative aspects of development and cross-departmental activities. The Development Associate will also assist the team in researching, preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals/reports that advance Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies mission. Primary Responsibilities

Provide administrative support regarding all aspects of donor management: research, preparing materials, and drafting correspondence and talking points for funder meetings Research and evaluate all gift-related data for accuracy and completeness—reconciling against source documents as necessary—to ensure accurate information is loaded into the Salesforce database and donors are acknowledged correctly Manage the development calendar, ensuring all deadlines are tracked and communicated to relevant team members. Ensure the Joint Center’s GuideStar profile is maintained. Liaise with the Communications team on joint projects such as the Annual Report. Draft, print, assemble, and mail timely donation acknowledgment letters to all donors following the appropriate templates and guidelines Draft email correspondences for senior leadership to support stewardship and cultivation of donors and prospects Conduct prospect research and elevate funding opportunities related to the organization’s mission. Serve as power user for the organization’s development database, Salesforce. Assist in the planning and execution of development-related events with scheduling support, vendor management, managing guest lists, and creating preparatory materials for event attendees and staff Support the creation of development documents including grant proposals and reports, annual reports, case statements, and stewardship reports Qualifications

Culture and mission-driven – extremely passionate about the Joint Center’s mission of using research to eradicate barriers to the full freedom of Black people in the United States Experience developing processes and procedures for effective Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Experience in Salesforce or donor database preferred 3 or more years of professional experience, including at least 2 years of relevant experience in fundraising An interest in learning and developing hands-on experience in all facets of fundraising Commensurate with experience, the salary for this position is $55k-$65k. Benefits include 100% employer-sponsored healthcare, dental, and vision; as well as STD, LTD, and life insurance coverage. After one year of employment, up to a 5% match in our 403(b) plan.
