Stengel Hill Architecture (SHA) is seeking a full-time Project Architect with 7+ years’ experience leading a variety of projects involving both new construction and adaptive use renovation. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication, design, technical, and organizational skills and is experienced in all phases of design and construction. While healthcare experience is encouraged, it is not required. The position will require working closely with project team members and principals to successfully produce articulate and technically strong project documents to execute quality projects.POSITION OVERVIEW
Collaboratively implement design and building performance strategies to align with project design philosophies; actively participate in project team meetings.Provide design and technical development, project coordination, and quality control for all aspects of a project.Collaborate with and coordinate work from consultants to ensure integrated project documents that support project design.Contribute to the preparation of quality design documents including detailed construction documents that result in complete submissions for all phases of a project and are compliant with design intent and project scope, schedule, and cost requirements.Perform construction administration duties such as review of shop drawings, product data, and material samples for conformance with design intent, response to RFIs, and review of pay applications and change orders.Coordinate and assign team tasks and goals with the architectural technical team.Maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases and participate in marketing, client, and owner presentations as required.Perform business development functions, including marketing, and networking to create personal connections and involvement in professional organizations.Lead, teach, and guide other project team members to assist in their growth and development in the home office.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the Architecture profession with AIA or State License.Seven plus years of experience in the architectural profession and project management.Well-rounded knowledge of the architecture profession and workflow.Knowledge of building components, construction materials, standards, and codes.Business management knowledge preferred.Experience in construction administration or knowledge of construction practices.Healthcare Design experience and knowledge preferred.REVIT experience/AutoCAD software knowledge preferred.
