Description
We have an immediate opening for a Recycling Technician to handle processing of all recycling and waste management for our Cypress, CA facility.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Overseeing the collecting, handling and delivery of recyclable material from offices and production areaEnsuring recyclable materials are placed in proper containersInspecting collection barrels, carts, dumpsters, and recycling bins making sure that they are in good condition and if they need their labels to be replacedMaintaining records and makes periodic reports about volume and type of recycling activityMaintaining recycling center in a clean, well-organized manner avoiding clutter and potential fire hazardsReceiving, inspecting and verifying recyclable materialsPicking up and delivers supplies and materials for recycling areaLoading and unloading recycling pickup trucksOverseeing recycling equipment maintenanceAssisting in the sorting and baling of recyclable commoditiesLogging and tracking recycling pick-upsReporting garbage spills/hazardous waste and contaminated recycling bins/barrels to the Plant Manager and/or VP of SustainabilityInvolvement in other special projects, as neededRecycling Technician - Starting pay $18.00 per hour; salary range $18.00 to $22.10 per hour
Requirements
In order to be successful, you will need:
At least 6 to 12 months experience working in a production environmentHigh school diploma/GEDForklift experience/certificationExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of proper methods of disposing of hazardous materialsKnowledge of safe and proper use of balerAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyAbility to understand necessary safety procedures and precautions
