Assess and analyzes traffic flow data, commodity flow data and import/export data for practical market-based applications.Assists clients on pricing and costs for logistics and supply chain elements in dynamic markets.Interprets complex datasets focused on multiple lanes of product movement.Analyzes distribution chains and warehousing strategies from network perspectives (like business model strategies of an Amazon, UPS or Toyota [in support of its own manufacturing processes]) to enhance economic development projects and where warranted to assist clients working new and expanded projects.Assesses, analyzes, interprets, and critiques supply chains, logistic networks, logistic strategies, inventory strategies, material handling, shipment of products, and third-party warehousing.Assists in developing logistics plans and procedures for clients.Interprets data and information related to the planning and implementation of activities related to the timely, cost-effective, procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.May assist in [or critique or analyze] the establishment and maintenance of the production control system for clients and their customers.Other duties:

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or comparable field; requiredMaster's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or comparable field; preferred5+ years' experience working with global and domestic freight logistic solutions, whether in an academic or forecasting function, analytic staff function, or a line function to execute supply chain/distribution policies; requiredMust be geographically conversantMust be mode savvy (able to interpret rail, truck, air, pipeline costs and pricing in multivariate dynamic situations)Must be able to track continuous market changes on freight traffic flowsMust be able quickly to decipher and interpret into actionable information shifts in market demand and supply in logisticsAbility to "talk the language" of truck and rail rates, O/D pairs, rate packages for multiple destinations, air freight and steamship line pricing, spot rates versus contract, and be able to track these elements pro-actively and dynamicallyUnderstands supply chain services, inventory control, or critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, third-party warehousing and shipping/receiving activitiesAbility to assess location aspects of distribution warehousing, the real estate market aspects of the sameAbility to assess network aspects of supply chain and logistics applicationsAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical requirements:

Work is generally performed in an office or client office setting. Ability to use standard office equipment is required. Travel will be required.
