Position Overview:
NextEra Energy is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining software solutions that drive innovation in the energy industry. Your expertise in Java, AWS, Docker, multithreading, and CI/CD will be essential in ensuring the reliability and performance of our software applications.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Software Development:** Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using Java as the primary programming language.
2. **AWS Integration:** Leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build scalable and efficient cloud-based solutions, utilizing various AWS services.
3. **Containerization:** Create and manage Docker containers to facilitate deployment and scaling of applications.
4. **Multithreading:** Implement multithreading and concurrent programming techniques to optimize performance and resource utilization.
5. **Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):** Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the software delivery process, ensuring rapid and reliable releases.
6. **Collaboration:** Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define software requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
7. **Troubleshooting and Debugging:** Diagnose and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and other issues as they arise.
8. **Documentation:** Maintain clear and concise documentation for code, design, and processes.
9. **Best Practices:** Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends to continuously improve software development processes.
**Qualifications:**
- Strong proficiency in Java programming.
- Experience with AWS services
- Proficiency in containerization technologies, particularly Docker.
- Solid understanding of multithreading and concurrent programming concepts.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI, GitLab CI).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Familiarity with energy or utility industry concepts.
- Experience with GoLang

- Knowledge of software security best practices.
- Certifications related to Java, AWS, or Docker.
