Job Summary
Aurora is Novant Health's design system, but it is much more than that. As the Lead FED on Aurora, you will be working with a team of designers and stakeholders to build a framework agnostic component library used by both internal and external delivery teams. Aurora Components are built against Aurora designs so a strong knowledge of working against design specifications is critical.
Optimizely is Novant Health's CMS platform. Components built in this platform utilize React, SASS, MVC and TypeScript. The websites built upon the Optimizely platform also consume components from Aurora. As the lead FED you will be working on various product delivery teams to create remarkable user experiences, define and maintain standards & practices for our UI/UX practice and mentor other FEDs across our teams.Reports To
You will report to the Manager of Web Technical Services. As such, you will be working with 4 teams that are part of their organization but will also work with all the other delivery teams that contribute to the Novant Health product catalog including external vendors.
Responsibilities
Introduce, maintain, and advance standard tools and processes that enable repeatable and scalable omni-channel successBuild and maintain documentation and training to enable designers and developers to effectively use our design systemProvide technical thought leadership and contribute to next iterations of the design system based on evolving enterprise needs and trends in technologyDrive the implementation of our visual language in coordination with our design and development leadersWork with the design team to improve usability and to ensure high-quality standards and brand consistency. Ultimately your work will have a direct impact on the user experience of our customersBuild framework agnostic components that can be delivered to products across our product catalogueCreating the best possible user experiences across our product catalogWorking collaboratively and communicating with the Aurora team & partners.Building and maintaining web applicationsWorking closely with the UI/UX design team as well as the development teamBuild consistent and reliable web experiencesHave a deep understanding of Modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS.Have knowledge of modern UI frameworks React/Vue/Angular/Web ComponentsHave knowledge of the entire web development process and possess the ability to implement and execute standard software architecture patternsHave a keen eye for detail and are analyticalBe curious about new technologies and driven to find ways to implement them in your workProvide best fits architectural solutions to provide for the business needsResponsible for defining and the scope or workContribute to a variety of roles in thought leadership, mentorship, architecture, design, testing, debugging, and documentationEnsure deliverables are of the highest quality to promote product owners' satisfactionIndependently manage tasksAbility to work effectively with various teams in pursuit of problem solutionsStrong presentation skills desired with the ability to explain technical considerations, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical peopleEither have experience with or willingness to learn Microsoft technology stack.Qualifications
5 + years of experience in developmentStrong interpersonal and teamwork skillsMust be flexible to new situations and challengesSoftware engineering
Understanding of software design patterns and implementations of those patterns in JavaScript.Understanding of the MVC/MVVM software patternsFamiliar with a CMS and building component systems for them.

Familiar with Visual Studio and working with Visual Studio tools including builds, local deployments, and the IIS web stack.Familiar with ASP.NET MVC and Razor viewsFamiliar with a distributed source control system such as GIT
