The IT Data Architect - Data and Analytics is responsible for understanding sources of data and defining a for integrating, centralizing and maintaining it. In our Data and Analytics organization, this involves partnering with business users and IT team members to support our data warehouse/lake as well as the data models and integration of applications across one or more business functions. The role reports to the Data Staff Architect, but is expected to work independently and collaboratively to support and continuously improve various systems and business processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business/functional leaders and teams to identify, collect and translate information requirements into data to develop data-centric solutionsImplement industry-accepted data architecture principles and standards for modeling, stored procedures, replication, regulations, and security, among others, to meet technical and business goals.Establish and oversee adherence to standards for data modeling and code in various languages to improve and update data-centric solutionsResearch and properly evaluate sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usabilityApply sampling techniques to effectively determine and define ideal categories to be questionedCompare and analyze statistical information to identify patterns, relationships and problems; organize and present findings to managementTrain assistants and other members of the team how to properly organize findings and read data collectedRefer to previous instances and findings to determine the ideal method for gathering dataContinuously identifies and pursues opportunities to improve systems in terms of reliability, usability, and performanceCollaborates across functional, company, and geographical boundaries and influences and negotiates to provide effective support and deliver resultsParticipates as data lead on projects of all sizesApplies principles, concepts and practices of the IT Service Management (ITSM), Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC), and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Proactively enforces worldwide and local security policies to ensure IT information assets are protected
