Solution Architect (Data Catalog)
Duration:
6 months contract (potential extension)
Rate: $80 - $85 w2 hourly
Location: Chicago, IL
(remote // The preference is for a local Chicago area candidate who is willing to come into the office at least once a week.)
Primary Responsibilities:
As a Solution Architect, you will work on the implementation of an Enterprise Data Catalog for. As a valued member of Data Platform Architecture team, you will work on shaping and building new data management solutions to deploy in support of our internal clients
You'll help to create solutions to drive the next wave of innovation. You'll recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premises, Cloud-based, and hybrid resources.
You'll work with our engineering, architecture, and migration teams to inform strategy and architecture design. This is an opportunity to stay on top of the latest Cloud resources as you lead efforts to prototype using multiple techniques and new technologies. Join our team as we transform the way we manage data and information by taking advantage of Cloud technology.
Technical Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience within the field of business intelligence, analytics.
- 4+ years of experience with data architecture, management, maintenance, implementing best practices and industry standards.
- Experience with data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift or similar.
- Proficiency in using data catalog tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog, or similar platforms.
- Experience in customizing and configuring data catalog tools to meet specific business requirements.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance practices, and data integration techniques.
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
- Familiarity with cloud-native data services, storage solutions, and analytics tools
- Experience with DB technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience in building and optimizing data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of data.
- High degree of knowledge in PaaS and SaaS application performance.
- Understand enterprise level application architecture diagrams and IT security requirements.
