We are now focused on bringing our expertise to the auto insurance industry where we believe our unique capabilities will disrupt the existing market for auto coverage.We are looking for a highly motivated Vice President of Legal with a strong focus on insurance regulatory skills to join our Legal team. This is a hybrid role.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in Telenav’s executive management process providing legal advice to the CEO and other officersReview, draft, and negotiate managing general agency agreements, reinsurance treaties, and Third Party Administrator agreements for our insurance businessEnsure compliance with all licensing requirements (producer licenses, Customer Support Representative licensing, etc.) for the insurance business Advise the insurance business on applicable State Department of Licensing regulations, such as those regarding incentives, commission sharing arrangements, marketing messages, etc.Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts to support our insurance business, including SaaS agreements, content agreements, professional services agreements, marketing agreements, and agency commission agreementsManage financing and M&A transactionsAct as a strategic partner, providing valuable insights to internal stakeholders throughout the contract processIdentify and mitigate legal risks associated with proposed transactionEnsure compliance with global data privacy regulations in collaboration with the in-house Data Protection OfficerDevelop, update, and maintain form agreementsAssist with special projects, legal research, and provide ad hoc support for the Legal teamExperience and Skills10 years legal experience with a focus on insurance regulatory and operating processes and general experience with corporate matters and intellectual property licensing, reviewing and negotiating software and technology licensing agreements (in-bound and out-bound), and customer agreementsPrior experience working at a top law firm and in-house experience as a licensing/product attorney, preferably within the Insurtech industryExperience with corporate management processes, including Board of Directors and corporate governanceStrong understanding of privacy and data security issuesJuris Doctor with strong academic credentialsActive California bar membership or qualified as California Registered In-House CounselDemonstrated leadership and project management skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, business judgment, and strategic thinking**Compensation**The base salary range for this role is $251,000 - $300,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
