About The Team
As a member of one of our payroll product teams, this person will be responsible for creating, enhancing, and supporting the payroll processing aspects of the suite of tools provided by Paylocity. Working collaboratively with Product Managers, Software Test Engineers, and Business Stakeholders, our Software Engineers are actively engaged in the entire software development life cycle within an agile environment. This includes technical design, hands-on coding, unit testing, stress testing, performance tuning, maintenance, test automation, deployment, and upgrades.
What You Will Do
Drive the development of large-scale distributed backend systems from design to launchWork on managed code and stored proceduresBe the technical owner for the team's capabilities and systemsDeploy to on-premises and AWSCollaborate with stakeholders to influence and translate business requirements into technical direction and data-driven implementation plansHelp develop a vision for everything you work onProvide guidance and mentoring for junior engineersLead by example and hold yourself and others accountable
What You Will Bring
3 or more years of experience as a Software EngineerFluency in C# .NETExperience developing event-driven systems using capabilities like RabbitMQ, Mass Transit, AWS SQS & SNSHands-on experience designing and building resilient, scalable distributed backend systems for Enterprise scaleSolid understanding of modern REST API standards and conceptsDomain driven development experienceHands-on experience and desire to work with SQL Server queries and Stored ProceduresExperience with various automated testing methodologies and continuous release concepts like CI/CD and feature flaggingFamiliarity with Observability and Monitoring tools like Datadog or KibanaFluent written and verbal communication skills that enable collaboration with technical or business-centric peers

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $84,487 - $182,372/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
