Dodge Industrial is seeking an Application Engineer for the Power Transmission Components & Bulk Material Handling team.This role will support the power transmission components and bulk material handling businesses which include couplings, belted drives and conveyor pulleys.This role is a customer facing, technical position, and it requires providing application technical support through phone calls, emails, chat requests, video conferencing and site visits.This position also provides design engineering support to operations, supply chain, sales, product management and other internal functions.Qualified individuals shall be able to communicate and relay technical concepts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Provide product and application based technical support to bulk material handling and power transmission component customers via phone calls, emails, chat, and video conferencing.Provide product selection and installation support and find creative solutions to customer issues.Work directly with product drafters/designers to ensure accuracy of models and drawings.Create new part numbers and establish/maintain BOMs.Drive product enhancements and improvements on current designs.Collaborate with other functional areas, including operations, supply chain, product management, R&D, and quality to ensure overall alignment.Manage cost reduction and lean/continuous improvement projects, which may include laboratory testing, design, and qualification.Provide training to the DODGE salesforce and external customers on products and their proper applications.Occasional travel, to provide on-site customer service, including training, installation support, and diagnosis, as required.Background
Completed a mechanical engineering (or mechanical engineering technologies) bachelor's degree programMust be currently authorized to work for Dodge Industrial in the USStrong analytical skills with an emphasis on critical thinking, root cause analysis, and problem solvingAttention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and responsibilityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCollaborates well with others and is a good team playerEntrepreneurial spirit with passion for new and changing ideasFamiliar with MS Office and 3D/2D drafting and modeling software (SolidWorks, Creo, and/or AutoCAD)
