Part-time Shuttle Bus Service Coordinator

Overview:
The Shuttle Bus Coordinator will coordinate the daily staffing schedule, ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and log requirements, and provide training to shuttle bus drivers. This position will also be responsible for safely operating the shuttle bus according to a set daily schedule. This individual must ensure the shuttle bus is in good operating condition at all times, pick up and drop off students according to schedule, maintain order and safety on the shuttle bus, and adhere to all laws, regulations, and rules of conduct.Position will average 15 hours per week during academic year with reduced summer hours.This position will be open until filled, with a first review date of June 3, 2024. After this date, the posting may close without further notice. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.Responsibilities:Coordinate the shuttle bus schedule according to student demands/needs.Schedule the shuttle bus drivers, and ensure an ample number of drivers are available to meet route needs.Provide oversight on all DOT regulations to ensure drivers are in compliance with applicable laws and licenses.Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule in conjunction with the driver team to ensure that appropriate maintenance is scheduled and completed.Transport riders between designated Blackhawk Technical Colleges sites based on a prescribed schedule.Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and comply with state regulations.Ensure the shuttle buses are kept clean, orderly and in safe condition.Maintain vehicle, passenger, and trip logs in compliance with regulations.Ensure shuttle bus is safely secured and stored, while parked on campus locations and at the end of each shift.Responsible for maintaining the safety and maintenance of the vehicle while elevating any issues needing repair to management.Maintain order on the shuttle bus, and elevate disciplinary issues as necessary.Report any and all accidents and incidents of concern to management.
Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Obtain an acceptable status on Motor Vehicle Record Check.Strong knowledge of highway and traffic safety regulations.Ability to scheduled and coordinate staffing levels.Ability to interact and communicate with riders in a professional manger.Ability to operate school bus in a safe and responsible manner.Ability to read and write to record pickups and maintain daily records, and adhere to schedule.Education & Experience:Hold a State of Wisconsin Class C License.Prior bus driving experience.Prior customer service experience.Blackhawk Technical College does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.
