The Veeam Leader of Worldwide Accounting will report to the CFO and will serve as the Company’s chief accounting officer (CAO), and principal accounting officer for SEC reporting, if applicable. In this role the CAO will be a key business partner for functional business leaders within the organization to manage business infrastructure and maintain key controls and governance.

The role is responsible for management of global accounting operations for more than 50 Veeam subsidiaries, including management of Veeam’s regional controllerships, revenue accounting, corporate consolidations, financial reporting, and technical accounting matters. Additionally, this role oversees, and is responsible for, consolidated financial reporting, transfer pricing, treasury operations, equity plan administration, and debt compliance.

This role also partners with the Company’s compliance team to develop the Company’s corporate governance, risk management, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Global accounting operations (AR, AP, GL Management, including accounting for software revenues)
    • Evolve the Company’s accounting for revenue as the Company transitions from selling predominately perpetual software licenses (plus perpetual maintenance) to selling a combination of term-based subscription licenses, and “Consumption” or “as a Service” licensing.
    • Maintain and review financial records to ensure accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Corporate consolidation and consolidated financial reporting, including:
    • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of complex technical accounting matters.
    • Review of proposed accounting pronouncements for impact and applicability to Veeam.
  • Maintain an effective internal control environment.
    • Evolve the internal control structure to comply with public company standards.
  • Maintain relationship with the independent audit and assurance firm (KPMG).
    • Primary accounting contact for conducting the annual audit of the company’s consolidated financial statements.
  • Equity plan administration.
    • Partner with the Company’s Total Rewards Team to manage administration of the Company’s stock option plan, including the stock option register and capitalization table.
    • Interface with third party valuation experts to complete a quarterly 409a valuation.
  • Maintain accounting processes that easily reflect the Company’s transfer pricing policies and legal entity structures (Cost plus and Margin minus).
  • Managing the Company’s cash positions to ensure cash can be efficiently moved across corporate entities without adverse withholding tax implication.
  • Monitor currency exposure and make recommendations to reduce risk where appropriate.
  • Manage international banking relationship.
  • Manage statutory audit processes, predominately non-US entities.
  • Special projects, as needed.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s, or Master’s, degree in Finance or Accounting; certified public accountant is a plus.
  • 15 plus years corporate controllership experience, preferably a combination of Big 4 public accounting and public company controllership experience.
  • Experience in IPO processes.
  • Software industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Well organized, goal oriented, and motivated.
  • Able to work at a fast pace and prioritize competing projects (focused).
  • Ability to develop new processes, systems, and models.
  • Proactive team player (collaboration and sharing), strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (solution-oriented), as well as some project management skills.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite Accounting Software is a plus.

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), which is inclusive of base and variable pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.

United States of America Pay Range: $447,000—$638,600 USD.
