Psychology Lab Manager - Work Study

Life University seeks a student who is committed to expanding opportunities for undergraduates to engage in original research in the social sciences at Life University. The Lab manager will work with faculty in the Social Sciences and the Assistant Dean to support the planning and implementation of initiatives to support student research, beginning, in Fall 2023, with the creation of a Psychology research lab. They will support student and faculty research over the next year by scheduling lab sessions, participating in and supporting PSI CHI initiatives, learning and teaching about university research resources, advertising research and related service-learning opportunities to students, supporting student and faculty research, and coordinating with CETL, the library, the Institutional Review Board, and other university offices as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist Psychology faculty and Assistant Dean with submitting a proposal for funding for a research lab by week three of the Fall quarter. Participate in PSI CHI Assist students and faculty with scheduling lab sessions Be present in the lab for at least eight hours each week Meet with Psychology faculty supervisor at least once per week Assist with planning and marketing of research and related service-learning opportunities Learn about research and library resources at the University (CETL, Library, IRB), and be prepared to assist students and faculty with utilizing those resources Provide work study award letter at the beginning of each quarter. Maintain confidentiality regarding other students. Submit hours worked in ADP timely, each week and do sign off on Friday every other week. All student positions are working positions. 100% work 0% study. Requirements

Must be a currently enrolled Life University Student awarded work study Must have completed PSY 241 and 242 with a grade of "B" or higher. Must demonstrate an attitude of helpfulness. Able to perform tasks independently with general supervision. Ability to operate standard office equipment and follow office procedure. Computer skills; data entry and spreadsheet software capabilities. Strong attention to detail; ability to organize work and perform tasks with a high level of accuracy.
