Specifically, you will lead a team of engineers, while contributing with hands-on engineering to deliver reusable application and infrastructure code. You will partner with other product owners, tech leads, and most importantly application development teams to understand their code, and usage patterns and identify high potential use cases to reduce code duplication and undifferentiated heavy lifting. Once codified and released via self-service, you will champion adoption and enable an inner source ecosystem, encouraging developers to contribute and fuel the platform. Your success is determined by the consumption of your product, and the overall improvement to developer velocity. Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical DayPartner with your product owner to establish key technical delivery plans, in alignment with a strategic roadmap.Heavily influence product roadmap based on an understanding of the business and potential to simplify and reduce code duplication and improve overall developer velocity.Provide technical expertise as it relates to both application development and infrastructure code reusability.Manage a team of engineers to curate great code from application development teams, as well as contribute hands-on to develop additional modular templates for widespread consumption. Integrate best practice (12 factor app) into all codified solutions.Contributions can range from UI, application or infrastructure tier based on expertise.Lead with an application development and automation mindset, promoting frequent, small changes.Identify opportunities for simplification in the application development toolset, striving for less tools which do more.Work across CTO with key product owners and tech leads to establish and create consistency in the way the group enables self service capabilities to developers.Maintain a consistent feedback loop with application development teams to champion adoption and continued inner source contributions to the developer experience platform.The Skills & Expertise You Bring Deep Application Development, Engineering, Analytics, or similar experienceStrong technical experience inApplication Development, Automation, and Infrastructure as CodeJava, Python, or similar coding experience.Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar coding experience.Cloud ArchitectureAPIs, and EventsDomain Driven DesignResiliency, including multi region design strategies.Containerization – docker or KubernetesInformation Security – Oauth, mTLS, authn and authzNetwork Security – Ingress/Egress controlsObservability – metrics, logging, and end-to-end tracingDevOps and branching models to support frequent changes (e.g., trunk)Modular and Reusable codeAgile methodologyOperations processes to support an active production environment (Developer Experience Platform)Lead and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.   Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges. Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills; enjoy learning new skills.  Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experienceExpertise with several of the following: Effective Communication: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Decision-Making & Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.Financial/Business Acumen: Strong Knowledge of financial and/or business concepts, tools and processes and how financial metrics are used to monitor and drive outcomes. The salary range for this role is from $195,100.00 to $263,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
