As a Software engineer II, you are a technical individual contributor for supporting R1 RCM’s application platform hosted in Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. Platform infrastructure includes Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Service Fabric, and Document Database clusters. Engineers work closely with development teams to build and maintain automation through Infrastructure as Code solutions for enterprise applications deployed to the cloud.

Required Qualifications

3-5 years experience working with full-stack data & web platforms2+ years directly responsible for individual projectsExperience with servers, databases, web servers, application servers, etc.Experience with “full stack” application deployments: E.g. Integrating the server roles listed above into a single cohesive application stackInfra as Code, CI/CD, and Scripting experienceOne or more of the following: C# .NET, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python, Terraform, Ansible, HelmProficiency in tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager for automated infrastructure deployment.Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automating tasks and workflows.Experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) (AKS, EKS) for managing containerized applications.Security: Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management, and experience implementing security controls in cloud environments.Monitoring and Logging: Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus) and logging solutions for tracking and analyzing system behavior.Databases: Proficient in managing and optimizing cloud-based databases, both relational (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, Cosmos DB).Collaboration and Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Problem-solving and Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues in cloud environments.Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies, cloud service provider updates, and industry best practices.Leadership and Mentoring: For a senior role, leadership skills to guide and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.3-5 years of Azure Cloud ExperienceNative Azure networking, storage, and IaaS infrastructure deploymentsPaaS Web Application deployment and configuration (e.g. Azure App Services)Basic understanding of Azure Security and infrastructure hardeningExperience in Enterprise automation design patternsImplementation & maintenance of cross-platform Infrastructure as CodeFully automating Infrastructure as Code deploymentsExperience with secure design patterns for fully automation solutionsBasic Core Infrastructure SkillsBasic understanding of TCP/IP networkingUnderstanding of virtual private networks (VPN)Basic understanding of Linux server configurationGood understanding of Windows server configuration

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $53,812.50 - $93,375.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
