As a Senior Principal Software Engineer at

Architect mission-critical software in support of national defense systemsProvide strategic technical leadership across the organizationContribute to the research and development of innovative software solutions for cutting-edge projectsRepresent SRC at customer design reviews and support the product during field or laboratory test eventsOffer technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, fostering their growth and development in software engineeringParticipate in software design and code reviews to ensure delivery of high-quality productsLead the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies and tools into the software development processDocument and communicate proposed software solutions with integrated, cross-functional engineering teamsStay up to date with the latest software development tools, technologies, and methodsGenerate quick turn prototypes to de-risk key functionality and to support customer demonstrationsCollaborate with project managers to ensure software development projects are delivered on time and within budgetUnderstand customer requirements and derive featuresWhat You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline with 15+ years of experience OR Master's degree with 10+ years of experiencePassion and talent for solving complex problemsExperience with a variety of programming languagesExperience developing software on Linux-based operating systemsKnowledge of modern DevSecOps tools and practicesAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment, with excellent communication skillsMust be U.S. citizenWays to Stand Out - Preferred Requirements
