Top Secret/SCI with CI PolygraphDESCRIPTIONAn opening for a Configuration Management Drafting Technician to create detailed technical drawings or plans for IT networks. The drafting technician should be familiar with computer software to convert the designs, plans, and layouts of engineers and architects into a set of technical drawings. The drafting technician will function as support developer and draft engineering designs and drawings from preliminary design concepts. This is an excellent opportunity to develop in one of the key engineering organizations supporting deployment of new, innovative, and challenging technologies.The job duties of the Drafting Technician are as follows:Manage the IT-IA-IM baseline configuration for all-project related work for project oversight as well as office-level oversight and controlDevelop policy for documenting and changing baseline project network configuration itemsProvide drawing, diagraming, and network mapping expertise and support to the Configuration Management TeamCoordinate with network architects and engineers to gather requirements for designsUtilize complex network analysis tools to identify and build network maps for enterprise level servicesCreate detailed designs with various computer software applicationsCreate drawings in support of tooling and equipment component designsEstablish, train, and maintain network drawing standards to serve all contract requirementsPrepare and review network diagram sketches with applicable teams prior to official draftingIdentify potential operational issues and redesign products and processes to improve functionalityEnsure final designs comply with regulations and quality standardsInterface with vendors and internal customers to schedule and coordinate workDocument and track action items and input from design review meetingsIdentify and evaluate key components for equipmentClarify and refine automated network mapping tool outputs with network engineers and offsite network techniciansInterface with and coordinate work taskings through customer managed ticket systemREQUIREMENTS

Candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 3 years, master’s and 4 years, bachelor’s and 6 years, associates and 8 years or HS diploma and 10 years. Additional required qualifications include:Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.Required qualifications include:

Functional knowledge of MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPointProficiency creating network drawings using MS VisioDesired Qualifications:

Ability to brief and communicate with team leadership, customers, and vendorsFamiliarity with Atlassian Confluence team collaboration applicationsBe familiar with applications related to network and topology mappingPrior experience as a network administrator
