Accounting Manager.

They are financially strong, very stable, and fast growing fintech company in the La Jolla/ UTC area. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with coordinating the month-end closing activities, and preparing financial statements and reports as deemed necessary. The position involves leading the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and implementing and maintaining robust financial systems and controls. They will collaborate with various departments to provide valuable financial insights and supports strategic decision-making. This position will report to the Director of Accounting.

What You’ll Be Doing: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards. Manage day-to-day financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management. Conduct financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and coordinate with external auditors during audits. Oversee the loan accounting process, ensuring accurate recording of loan transactions, interest accruals, and fee assessments. Execute and/or provide the necessary oversight for daily banking transactions and requirements. Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Work closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, and human resources, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration. Continuously assess and improve financial processes for efficiency and effectiveness. Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide training as necessary. Monitor and manage cash flow, including optimizing working capital and recommending strategies for improvement. Oversee and coordinate the preparation of sales tax returns. Support Director of Accounting and CFO with special designated and ad hoc projects. Assist and support budget and forecasting activities. An Ideal Candidate Looks Like This: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred). Proven experience (6 years) in accounting management roles. Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting, and IRS regulatory compliance. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Advanced Excel Skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIF & SUMIFS a must). Proficiency with Salesforce and Fundingo preferred.
