Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in low-level systems software, especially in virtualized environments.This position requires a strong understanding of low-level Linux kernel internals, including memory management and device drivers for peripherals and buses. The right candidate will have the ability to debug complex problems and analyze performance and scalability across a variety of configurations and workloads, with a focus on QEMU/KVM performance.Solid understanding of PC architecture (x86 and ARM): CPU, memory, I/O subsystem, and interconnectivity buses is a strong plus. Prior experience with SoC, GPU, DPU, microarchitectures, NVMe over fabric, live migration, SRIOV/VFIO, paravirtualization, VDPA, SmartNICs and embedded systems is a plus.If this describes you, you can design and build innovative new systems from the ground up at Oracle. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.Excellent knowledge of OS kernel internals, including memory management and device driver architecture.Strong background in computer architecture and virtualization (experience with one or more of Qemu/KVM, Xen, HyperV).Development experience working on low-level, performance-critical software.5 - 12+ years’ experience designing, developing, and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.Strong knowledge of C, C++, Java, Go or Rust and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.Demonstrated knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems fundamentals.Working familiarity of networking protocols (L2/L3/L4) and standard network architecture.About Us
