Such a physician must be specifically trained to provide family medicine services. Physicians are advocates for the patient in coordinating the use of the entire health care system to benefit the patient.Additional details:ESSENTIAL TASKS:Reviews medical history of patients referred for treatment.Conducts medical examinations of patients.Prescribes, recommends, and administers treatments.Provides information or consultation to promote wellness or prevent onset or worsening of health-related disorders;Records patient information, diagnosis, prescriptions, treatments, and patient response to treatment and medication in the patients health record;Reviews patient records, assures that treatments are appropriate and within normal parameters for the diagnoses, and assures that records are properly maintained.ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of evidence-based and best practicesAbility to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at all levels of the organization.Ability to work with diverse individuals.Ability to interact with patients, staff, and other stakeholders in a respectful, professional, and tactful manner.Ability to make reasonable and sound evaluative judgments.Ability to use a computing device and electronic health record software.Demonstrate professional and business-like in appearance and demeanor.Demonstrate sound problem-solving and decision-making ability.Demonstrate skill in planning and organizing work, managing time and meeting commitments.
