Senior/Staff Robotics Software Engineer
who can provide technical and thought leadership, contribute creatively, and deliver production-ready code to create a one-of-a-kind massage therapy experience. Working alongside a cross-functional team of engineers and subject-matter experts, you will design and productionize systems that transform professional massage techniques into elegant robot behaviors. As a
Senior Robotics Software Engineer
at Aescape you will:Drive advancements at the forefront of elegant human-robot interaction, providing thought leadership and creative problem solving amidst unsolved and ambiguous problems.
Architect new systems and integrate sensors for capturing and transforming traditional massage techniques into elegant robot motions.
Extend upon our existing codebase and re-architect where necessary to allow for seamless deployment of innovative robotic behaviors and user-facing features.
Lead the design, development, and testing of the core software and processes used to build our library of massage content, optimized to the individual user.
Collaborate with domain experts to evolve and improve upon our massage content offerings, with a critical eye for quality.
Lead design and code reviews that facilitate feedback and efficient execution.
What You’ll Bring
6+ years experience developing robotics & writing production code.
Proficiency in Python is required. C++ would be a bonus.
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent experience.
Exemplary systems design skills and prior experience designing and debugging complex robotics or automation systems.
Strong understanding of geometry and coordinate transformations.
Deep understanding of software development best practices and validation lifecycles.
The ability to productively conduct high-quality code reviews that enforce delivery of tested, production ready software.
Experience mentoring other engineers.
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both verbally and in writing.
Nice-to-have, but not required
Solid understanding of robot arm manipulation and kinematics.
Experience through the robotics, AV, or similar industry (such as gaming) in behavior. planning, task scheduling, path planning, and/or trajectory generation.
Experience with perception systems, robot-perception calibration techniques, sensor fusion.
Experience with ROS and other robotics tooling.
Experience with AWS, Docker, Airflow, and other similar platforms.
Experience with audio / video editors or robot teleoperation platforms.
Experience working on medical devices or in a regulated industry.
Prior knowledge of massage techniques and practices.
