The electric vehicles (EV) team plays a pivotal role at EnergyHub by enabling new and existing utility customers to add managed charging programs and EV data programs to better provide grid flexibility as more consumers are purchasing EVs. We are looking for a passionate engineer who can help us achieve our goals and develop the next generation of EV grid solutions.

You would contribute to our mission by working with the engineering team and key stakeholders to build new features while continuing to improve the capabilities of our current solutions. The EV team is a dedicated group of highly capable engineers ready to help mentor and guide you in developing strong software development skills.

Main Responsibilities

Design and implement software solutions that turn millions of electric vehicles, smart thermostats, batteries, and other energy IoT devices into resources that help create a cleaner and more resilient grid.Contribute to our software platform through writing design documents, code, unit/integration tests.Develop new ways of connecting our systems to energy markets and the systems that balance the electric grid.Work with our analytics and machine learning teams to deliver new data insights and optimize our virtual power plants.Contribute to the team’s collective goals through code reviews, group planning, debugging, and more.Work with device manufacturers and utilities to integrate even more devices into our platform.React to and resolve novel technical, operational, and organizational obstacles.Contribute to our team culture and inclusive environment.

Key Skills And Experience

2+ years professional software development experience.Recent Rails experience required; comfortable with enhancing existing Rails APIs.Java experience (preferably Java 11) preferred; other programming interests and technologies are encouraged!Experience with at least one scripting language (we use Python).

Preferred Skills And Experience

Information security: PKI, TLS, OAuth, SSO, penetration testing.Front-end: TypeScript, React, React Native.AWS Ecosystem experience.Typical development tools and processes (automated testing, continuous integration/deployment, monitoring systems).Database and data processing pipeline experience (we work with Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, S3, RabbitMQ, and Snowflake).

The salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
