Streetlight Bucket Operator
This outdoor position offers paid on-the-job training! It has a weekly pay schedule and Day shifts Monday through Friday or 4 10's Monday through Thursday.
All necessary tools, uniforms, and PPE, including a hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, work gloves, etc., will be provided. You only need to bring hard-toe work boots!
The main responsibilities are to diagnose and repair streetlights. On a day-to-day basis, you will be expected to manage the route, drive from location to location using a bucket truck and troubleshoot each street light outage ticket given that day.

American Lighting and Signalization (ALS) provides street lighting and traffic signalization construction, maintenance, and emergency response services in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. Our major customers include state departments of transportation (DOTs), investor-owned and municipal utilities, commercial retail land developments, and commercial road contractors.

Benefits:Medical, dental and vision coverage starting day one.Retirement planCompany-provided life insuranceSupplemental life insurance with spouse and child coverage optionsChoice of voluntary Aflac supplemental insurance programsLong-term disabilityPre-paid legal planEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid time offPaid holidaysVarious employee discount programs and resourcesEssential Functions & Responsibilities:Performs work from a bucket truck to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment.Clears work area and maintains safe job site conditions.Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate the work to be performed.Participates in-company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.Operates various tools for the work (power tools and hand tools.).Works around hazardous equipment and near energized parts or equipment.Works around excessive noise from machines, and other equipment with proper hearing protection.Uses meters and other testing devices on secondary voltages up to 600 Volts.All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.Minimum Qualifications:Must be 18 years of age or older.Able to safely enter and exit the aerial device and rear-end of the bucket truck.Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.Able to work at height efficiently and effectively.Meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket trucks as identified by the truck manufacturer.Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.Previous industry experience preferred but not required.Pre-ScreenUpon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.License & Certifications:Driver License Required.Able to pass a DOT physical to obtain a DOT medical card.Travel Requirements:May be able to travel outside our area to perform emergency storm work.Physical Requirements:RARE

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
Due to traffic exposure, the employee may be required to have traffic flagging training.
