Dayshift: 6AM - 6PMESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure safety for all residents Assess and document the resident's condition and nursing need Accurately and promptly implement physician's orders Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans Supervise and direct LPN's, LVN's, and CNA's Administer medications, start IV's, and perform treatments for residents Keep resident's environment clean and free of clutterObtain resident vital signsAnswer resident call lights and ensure that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequentlyFollow safety/infection control precautionsFollow hand-washing procedures during your daily dutiesAssist with meal tray set-up and assist with resident meals as needed. Ensure that all meals, snacks, and fluids are recordedDocument on flow sheets as directedAssist in transporting residents to activities, therapy, etcReport all complaints or grievances to the Nurse Supervisor/Director of Nursing/Administrator or Social WorkerImmediately report all suspected incidents of abuse to the Abuse CoordinatorImmediately report all incidents/accidents to your Nurse Supervisor no matter how minor they may bePerform other tasks as assigned*Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Educational Requirements and Experience:Graduate of an accredited RN School of NursingValid RN license in the state of AlabamaValid CPR certificationMinimum one year nursing experience preferredMinimum one year SNF experience highly preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a teamAbility to work effectively with the residents, their family members, and at all levels of the facilityAbility to react decisively and quickly in emergency situationsAbility to maintain confidentialitya
