A Financial Planner/Advisor is the cornerstone of the wealth management relationship and must demonstrate a broad base of knowledge across all client-related functions of the business, including planning, investments, insurance, retirement analysis, taxation, and estate planning. They are responsible for developing, supporting, and managing assigned client relationships. They can think creatively, strategically, and tactically; communicate clearly; and identify appropriate solutions for each client’s situation.
The FP/Advisor works under the direction of the firm’s principal to ensure that a consistent message and exquisite level of care are provided to our valued clients in an expeditious and team-oriented fashion. By working with the firm’s valued clients, the FP/Advisor focuses making constant and observable contributions to their growth and the growth and development of the firm, ensuring new and current clients are provided the best possible service. The ultimate goal is to contribute to both the team and the firm in a positive way that allows the firm to work successfully and drive growth of the firm.
We seek the person who is skilled and talented in these job functions:
· Provide training and mentoring to team members, as needed, in areas of financial planning and business development
· Provide investment, planning and operations support as needed
· Gather, enter, and analyze all necessary financial plan client data, independently and with team
· Complete final review of all meeting materials
· Develop and present financial plans and investment advice appropriate to individual client situations and in line with the firm’s planning processes and investment methodology
· Maintain involvement in client’s investment strategy and provide appropriate actions regarding client situations, goals and needs relative to investment strategy
· Review client insurance coverage and present analysis and recommendations to assigned client base
· Perform scheduled client review meetings to identify planning needs and opportunities
· Analyze new financial strategies, new tax and law changes to determine how they will affect our clients.
· Collaborate and coordinate with clients’ other professional advisors to deliver thoughtful and holistic advice, recommendations, and service
· Work with the team to streamline the firm’s policies and procedures, focusing on excellent and efficient operations and client service
· Serve as primary contact for assigned client relationships
· Coordinate with support team members to direct the elements of the Total Client Experience
· Follow up on qualified prospects in collaboration with the team and firm principal
· Identify, maintain, and work with the team to pursue referral opportunities, particularly with centers of influence
· Complete back-up duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
· CFP® designation helpful
· Series 7 license and state health, life, disability and variable annuity licenses
· Financial planning experience preferred
· Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
· Strong math and analytical skills
· Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
· Impeccable ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity
· Effective follow-up skills and ability to meet deadlines
· Flawless attention to detail and accuracy
· Self-motivated with ability to work well independently and with the team
· Professional appearance and demeanor

Benefits: Vacation: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks at year 10; generous paid sick time; 401k with 4% employer match; 1 floating day per year; from Memorial Day to Labor Day, work ½ day on Fridays from home; off for NY Stock Exchange holidays; Holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Presidents Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, with early closures before certain holidays; plus paid parking
Compensation: $120,000 to $130,000, based on experience and ability; plus bonus
