Roles & Responsibilities
Monitoring post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.Measuring and recording patients' vital signs.Closely observing patients for signs of side effects of anethesia medication.Treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.Updating charts, patient files, and medical records.Collaborating with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitating timely specialized interventions.Providing comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.Minimum Qualifications
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.Responsibilities:
Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.Complexity of Work:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment.Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support (BLS) CertificationAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)National Institutes of Health (NIH)Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) CertificationSound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.The ability to stand for extended periods.Strong technical skills.Knowledge of medical terminologyPassionate about patient careRequires a minimum of two years of RN PACU experience.Graduate from a fully accredited RN programActive unencumbered RN Oklahoma state licenseOne year of Epic experienceRequirements

Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.Participates in relevant continuing education programs.Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
