The Lead Power Electronics Hardware Development Engineer role belongs to a multicultural, multigeneration and diverse Power Electronics team. The Power Electronics team is a branch of the Global Engineering as the System team, the Automation team, and the Design office are.

Roles and ResponsibilitiesSimulate and Design (Electrical, Thermal, Mechanical) Power Electronics Converters for Industrial application such as Marine Propulsion, Oil and Gas, Metals rolling mills, and Power generation applicationsSpecify electrical and mechanical component BOM while working closely with the Design Office and ManufacturingWrite all product artifacts including Manufacturing and Commissioning instructionsDesign new Voltage Source Inverter (IGBT or Sic) and new Thyristor converter (Rectifier LCI)Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringOR Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Power Electronics Converters DesignDesired Characteristics
Understand physical phenomena; strong theoretical and mathematical background; with the ability to understand new concepts and ability to communicate information clearlyCreative, passionate and integrate into a teamWillingness to travel when neededAutonomous, curious with the ability to understand new concepts, coach other engineers, and integrate into a teamExperience on MMC, multilevel VSI, LCI, DC drives and CycloconverterExperience on Variable Speed application, STATCOM, or active filtering
